A major 6.0 magnitude earthquake hit the northern east Pacific rise on Monday, March 26, 2012, at 18:12:54 UTC, at a depth of 9.9 km (6.2 mi).  This is the fifth major (> 5.9) earthquake to hit in the last week.  Throughout history, there have never been as many major earthquakes with such frequency on record, as we see happening within the last year.
